  • Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?:
My grown children and grandchildren live within 5 minutes of me. I have one adult son in DC. My disposition is to be near my grandchildren as I feel a 'calling' to be an influence in their lives. Since their grandmother died, I feel a peculiar burden for them.
  • How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?:
Drawn to Christ at an early age, but not savingly until my early 20's. My Christian walk is pedestrian. (That is a joke). I attend my church regularly. I'm currently struggling with regular reading. My prayer life is present and active.
  • How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?:
Oh, boy! They turned me into a beggar of God's grace and humbled my soul (that is still going on at this stage... you'd think I get humbled enough by now... 'tain't so, I still get that rebuke which shows me my home is heaven and not this earth.
  • Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?:
Yes, I have a quiet time. It is more irregular than regular. Just reading my bible systematically.
  • Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?:
Peter. A time of foolish bravado and spiritual recovery. Our Lord used him when Peter said "Lord I 'like' you (not love) and Jesus said, "feed my sheep."
  • Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?:
Yes and no. I'm learning to be content but I don't have the gift of celibacy. I'm lonely and need companionship with someone who'll help me (and I in return can help them finish well).
  • What are four qualities your friends would attribute to you?:
Gentle, musically talented, emotionally stable/even tempered, and humble. I'm the most humble man I know! Haha. Seriously, I have disagreements with those who call me humble and emotionally stable but my buds would include those attributes describing me.
  • What are three things you are most thankful for?:
The unending and growing grace of God. My family My Church.
  • Describe the character and personality traits you enjoy in another person? What are yours?:
Not going too deep here. .. In a potential mate... Kindness, honesty, humor, sympathy/empathy, affectionate, passion (all types), spontaneity, others centered, sacrificial, and I do enjoy a beautiful face (not going to lie). My traits (good grief, how honest do I have to be). Laid back, ability to see things objectively, thoughtful, humorous, affectionate, patient, encouraging.
  • Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and how?:
Our church has 5 elders and our most esteemed pastor just died in March. I'd known him for 36 years and without a doubt the single largest influence of grace in my life.
  • What contributed to your previous relationship/marriage ending?:
My wife died of a nasty lung disease in early Jan. 2017.
  • How long have you been on your own since and what did you to do get through it?:
    2 yrs and 4 months.
  • Favorite lines from movies, poems, songs, hymns or Scripture you would like to tell us about?:

"It is a good day to die" - Warf - Star Trek "Freedom" - Braveheart "Mae-wagge" - Princess Bride "You killed my father, prepare to die" - PB (again) "Once More in to the breach good friends, once more" Shakesspear. Hymns? So many!! Why was I made to hear thy voice and enter while there's room, when thousands make a wretched choice and rather starve than come." "Come ye sinners, poor and needy" "It is not death to die" - Sovereign Grace Music
  • What type of work do/did you do?:
Industrial Sales 23 years. Public educator for 17
  • How long have you been/were you in that line of work? Do/you enjoy it?:
I was a teacher for 15 years (the last time) and I enjoyed it immensely for 13 years of time. After my wife jumped into the Savior's arms, I didn't really care for the last 1 1/2 years. My last day of teaching is tomorrow!!! May 10
  • Do you have any life-long goals? What are they?:
I'm in transition at this point. I'm going to take some of my time and think and pray about it. I 'm open to a short term mission project. I want to serve more in my church than I currently do.
