Sovereign Grace Singles (.com)!

Seeking Ethnicity (those I am willing to date)

My ideal place to live

On a yacht in the Carribean

My view on smoking

I don't smoke and I don't like to be around smokers

My view on drinking

I rarely drink

On the subject of children

I have children and don't want any more

Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?

I met my wife Karen on SGS and we love where we live!

How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?

I was about 12 years old when I “went forward” in church and “accepted Christ”.

In college I heard, for the very first time, the Doctrines of Grace in chapel. My first words, when it was explained to me by an Upperclassmen afterwards were “That’s not fair!!!”

I am so glad that God is not “Fair”!!

Soli DEO Gloria.

I seek to learn and grow daily in Christ Alone.

How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?

They put all things in Perspective and give me Hope.

The implications have been transforming and revolutionary to my Soul.

Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?

I am studying Ecclesiastes. Sobering. Contemplative.

Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?

Peter, I am SO much like him!!

Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?

I met my wife on SGS within a year after it was launched and were married in September 2006. Karen was widowed with 4 FANTASTIC KIDS!!! … three boys and a girl from 18-30… and her extended family all love Christ and the Doctrines of Grace as well.

I thank God for the gift of my marriage…. for Karen and her family… now including 6 GRANDkids!

I thank Christ for the fact that her deceased husband was a wonderful and Godly man who led his home and family.

I hope to meet him… David… one day and to tell him I was/am honored to “be there” when, by God’s Providence, he could not be and to tell him “Good job as husband and dad!!!”

What are four qualities your friends would attribute to you?

Honesty, Unpretentiousness, Transparency, Vulnerability.

What are three things you are most thankful for?

Salvation, Wife, Family.

Describe the character and personality traits you enjoy in another person? What are yours?

I don’t like “fake” people. I like Reality.

I enjoy being with and around persons who share qualities similar to those I believe I have.

Honesty, Unpretentiousness, Transparency, Vulnerability.

Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and how?

I had an EMS (Emergency Medical Service) Fire Chief when employed as a professional Firefighter/Paramedic for 37 years (retired December 2018). He had/has empathy for others, lived his life with Integrity and Authenticity. He was/is not a Christian but I enjoyed him as a Chief and a quality friend.

I appreciate those who’s Faith has been tested and they have raised their fist in defiance saying, “You will not defeat me nor my faith in Christ!!”.

One specifically is my friend Joe… he is not Reformed but is almost there… lol.

He has been tested… and has proven himself… not only as a Christian but as a dear friend and confidant.

What contributed to your previous relationship/marriage ending?

Adultery and abandonment. She was not who she presented herself to be.

“Thank God for UNanswered prayers!”

How long have you been on your own since and what did you to do get through it?

I met my wife on SGS within a year after it was launched and were married in September 2006. Karen was widowed with 4 FANTASTIC KIDS!!! … three boys and a girl from 18-30… and her extended family all love Christ and the Doctrines of Grace as well.

I thank God for the gift of my marriage…. for Karen and her family… now including 6 GRANDkids!

How Sweet and Aweful is the Place
Sovereign Grace Music, Bob Kauflin

How sweet and awesome is this place
With Christ within the doors,
While everlasting love displays
The choicest of her stores!

Here every bowel of our God
With soft compassion rolls;
Here peace and pardon bought with blood
Is food for dying souls.

While all our hearts and all our songs
Join to admire the feast,
Each of us cry, with thankful tongues,
“Lord, why was I a guest?

“Why was I made to hear Thy voice,
And enter while there’s room,
When thousands make a wretched choice,
And rather starve than come?”

‘Twas the same love that spread the feast
That sweetly drew us in;
Else we had still refused to taste,
And perished in our sin.

Pity the nations, O our God!
Constrain the earth to come;
Send Thy victorious Word abroad,
And bring the strangers home.

We long to see Thy churches full,
That all the chosen race
May with one voice, and heart and soul,
Sing Thy redeeming grace.

Whate’er My God Ordains Is Right
Sovereign Grace Music, Bob Kauflin

Whate’er my God ordains is right:
His holy will abideth;
I will be still whate’er he doth;
And follow where he guideth.

He is my God: though dark my road.
He holds me that I shall not fall.
And so to him I leave it all,
He holds me that I shall not fall.

Whate’er my God ordains is right:
He never will deceive me.
He leads me by the proper path;
I know he will not leave me.

I take, content, what he hath sent.
His hand can turn my griefs away,
And patiently I wait his day,
His hand can turn my griefs away.

Whate’er my God ordains is right,
Though now this cup, in drinking,
May bitter seem to my faint heart,
I take it all, unshrinking.
My God is true; each morn anew.
Sweet comfort yet shall fill my heart,
And pain and sorrow shall depart,
Sweet comfort yet shall fill my heart.

Whate’er my God ordains is right.
Here shall my stand be taken.
Though sorrow, need, or death be mine,
Yet am I not forsaken.
My Father’s care is round me there.
He holds me that I shall not fall,
And so to him I leave it all,
He holds me that I shall not fall.

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.

What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone! – who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.

Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again.

And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.

No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.
