  • Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?:
All of my immediate family lives in the same neighborhood as me in Columbus, Indiana. To be honest, the thought of relocating gives me a lot of anxiety as I don't want to be away from my family. My sister, brother-in-law, and toddler nephew just moved back home a year ago, which makes the thought of relocating even more anxiety-provoking for me. My family and closest friends are here, this place is home to me. That being said, I am willing to at least listen to what my potential companion thinks on the matter.
  • How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?:
I have been a Christian for almost all of my life, I do not remember a time in my life when I did not believe in God. However, at the age of 16 is when The Holy Spirit drew me to really grasp the good news of the Gospel in a deeper way that I never had up to that point. Ever since then, The Lord has continually shown Himself faithful to me in my life. Throughout of the trials I have experienced in life - some big, most small - He has been my Rock and my Comforter. He is my Father who loves and comforts me like no Christian human ever could, and it is imperative that the potential woman that I end up with have a true zeal for serving Christ's church together. Nowadays, my Christian walk is going well, by God's grace. I have wrestled with anxiety for many years now and am still struggling right now, but God is continually using that for my growth and for His Glory, and such is in full display on a frequent basis. I wholeheartedly agree with Ephesians 2:8-9 when it says that it is by grace that I hav been saved, and it has nothing to do with my own works - all because of what Jesus has done for me and The Holy Spirit revealing Himself to me. It is my prayer that God would continually conform me to a greater image of His Son, Jesus Christ, more and more, every day of my life (Philippians 1:6).
  • How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?:
They have led me to believe 100% in the Sovereignty of God over all things - including man's salvation - no exceptions. Contrary to what my struggles with anxiety might try to convince me, not a hair can fall from my head without it being in the will of my Heavenly Father, and for that I give Him all the glory and praise. The Doctrines of Grace have taught me that, while they are no excuse for me to not evangelize to the world, that no failures of mine or my brothers and sisters in Christ can ever get in the way of God's Redemptive Plan to deliver His people from sin and death. This glorious truth has brought an inexpressible joy and comfort in my life, and is what makes me able to sleep at night. Not only that, it is what has kept me able to "keep going" in the faith (to put it dramatically).
  • Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?:
Yes, I try to set aside at the very least one quiet time a day to have one-on-one time with God. I just recently finished reading through the Gospel of Matthew, and am currently reading through both the Psalms and Isaiah. I am currently trying to become more familiarized with the Old Testament, and I thought Isaiah would be a good book of The Bible to go through. I also love the Psalms, and this is the second time I have ever gone through them all chronologically. One of the biggest things that is striking me the most about the book of Isaiah thus far is the level of magnitude found within the call for all people everywhere to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and the foolishness of neglecting such an infinitely significant offer. I am also blown away by how much Isaiah illustrates the patience of God and how slow to anger He is with His people, and how that should never serve as a license to "keep on sinning" (Romans 6:1-2).
  • Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?:
It's hard to pick a favorite character without cheating and saying Jesus, but probably the Apostle Paul. His unconditional joy on full display, especially in the book of Philippians, has been a huge motivation for me to make my joy in life not based on present circumstances, but rather on the fact that I am redeemed in Christ alone (Philippians 4:11).
  • Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?:
Yes and no, honestly. It's a bit of a mix for me. There are some days that singleness has its benefits, but I am also finding myself craving godly companionship more and more the older I get. I have had a complicated fear of dating since I was in early high school, but I am finding myself wanting to come out of my shell and get out of my comfort zone.
  • What are three things you are most thankful for?:
This probably sounds cliche, but I don't care: the single greatest blessing in my life that I am thankful for is the salvation I have obtained in and through Jesus Christ alone, and that, by God's grace, no one/thing can ever take that away from me. The second thing I am most thankful for is the unity in Christ I share with my brothers and sisters in The Lord all throughout the earth; that whatever secondary differences I might have with them on topics such as politics, entertainment, etc., that I share something in common with hundreds upon thousands of people that is of eternal value, that being the blood of Jesus. The third thing I am most thankful for is the ability to goof off and have fun with friends, particularly with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. I am very thankful for the memories that I have made with many good friends, and how such memories can often distract us from the hardships of life.
  • Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and how?:
Probably my pastor of 15+ years, Andy McCracken, who just moved to pastor a church in Australia in February of this current year. Throughout all of the years he served at my home church, he had a true passion to preach the gospel with all boldness and without hindrance, yet he also did so with such unconditional love, humility and compassion for all people and a genuine desire for all people everywhere to experience the joy of knowing Jesus as one's personal Savior and Lord. He never spoke ill of others and was consistent in always pointing others to Christ first and foremost. He was/is a good friend of mine, and I already miss his presence in the church.
  • What contributed to your previous relationship/marriage ending?:
None, because I've never been married or in a relationship!
  • How long have you been on your own since and what did you to do get through it?:
    See above.
  • What type of work do/did you do?:
I have worked as a cashier and smoothie maker at Tropical Smoothie Cafe for 6 years now, and I still love it. While I certainly don't see myself making my income by making smoothies for the rest of my life, God has blessed me abundantly by putting me in a work environment where I get to work with and for people who also love The Lord. It's also cool to have 50% off everything in the cafe when I'm on duty. Just sayin...
  • How long have you been/were you in that line of work? Do/you enjoy it?:
    See above.
  • About Me:
I am a 23-year-old Christian guy born and raised in Columbus, Indiana. I love going on mission trips, playing guitar and video games, goofing off with friends, and serving in the church. That about covers it on a general level!
