On the subject of children

I would like to have children one day

Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?

I raised 3 children on my own since divorced over 15 years ago. If God so pleases to bring a future spouse into my life, I would consider relocating.

How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?

During the last year of my marriage, God called me to himself when I was in a lonely place as a wife. Although there were biblcial grounds for my divorce, I would have stayed in my marriage to work through this trial. However, as an unbeliever, his desires were to abolish our marriage.

The Lord has been my strength and my shield through the years as a single parent. I have learned to be joyful in the circumstances of my status and remained faithful to God to raise my children in the Lord. At times I failed, but my motives have always been to honor the Lord above all else. He has taught me how to depend on him and trust him instead of myself. Today, I am learning how to live on my own since my children have all graduated from school and living independent lives. I am waiting to see where I can be of use to God, as he equips me in my ministry of biblcial counseling and teacher. I comit myself to serve him in any capacity he chooses.

How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?

These doctrines I hold close to my heart as they are the underlying currents of my life. As I came to truely understand the scope of my depravity (Eph. 2:1, 5), and not being able to offer anything in myself to the Lord, but filthy rags (Rom. 8:29-30), I have become so thankful to my Lord Jesus Christ for his work on Calvary for me–For I no longer live for myself, but belong to Him, for he has atoned for my sins and bought me with his precious blood (1 Cor. 6:19-20).

Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?

I value my quiet time as it is hard to find these days. Currrently, I am reading The Tender Heart by Richard Sibbes.

Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?

Paul because of his courage and example of how to die to self and be joyful in it.

Esther for her bravery, sacrifice, and gentleness throughout her witness for the Lord.

Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?

I am not content being single, especially now since my children are living primarily independently. I long for the companionship that God originally designed.

godly sincerity

graceful

kind

About Me

Hello, I came to a saving knowledge of Christ more than 15 years ago when my husband abandoned our marriage. I have learned since to trust in God’s sovereignty with my singleness. However, because he has designed me to be a companion, my desire is to marry again some day if God sees fit to bless me in this way. If not, I will continue to find joy in his will for my life daily. As Proverbs 31:25 reads, ”Strength and dignity are her clothing and she laughs at the time to come.” I can only do this with the strength of Christ & the pouring in of the Holy Spirit! I am thankful for the grace he give me and am fully reliant on his love for me each day.
