  • Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?:
I am very close to my family, and I enjoy spending time with my parents, sister, and grandparents on a regular basis. When it comes to the person that the Lord may have for me, however, I am willing to consider re-locating as I want to be able to provide for and serve my partner as God would have me do. I believe in, and hold to, traditional values so I would definitely want my partner to feel as comfortable as possible.
  • How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?:
I was saved when I was 16 years old, and I have been so richly blessed by the Lord as He has cultivated within me a faith that has developed and strengthened over the course of the last four years. Within the past year, however, is when I really started to take an interest in church and the things of God, and He has ignited a passionate flame within me to defend the faith (apologetics) and to reach out to a lost and dying world. Right now I am teaching Sunday School classes at my church, and it has been a great learning experience for me thus far. I am thankful to have the opportunity to teach my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and talk to them about the Lord. Although I experience seasons of dryness concerning my spiritual walk, I am excited and hopeful for what the future holds because I know Who holds my future!
  • How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?:
From my perspective, a person needs to hear and understand the bad news before they can fully understand and appreciate the Good News. Knowing that I don't deserve salvation nor am I entitled to anything from God helps me realize just how much of an incomprehensible blessing the gift of salvation truly is. Despite the Lord knowing everything that I would and wouldn't do, He still chose me out from before the foundation of the world and called me to join His amazing Family. That right there is love and compassion displayed in such a way that no human can fully understand.
  • Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?:
I love those seemingly rare moments of quiet time because I can just slow down and find refuge in God's Word. Currently, I am reading through 1 John, although I do like to read the Psalms or my devotional often. Right now my youth group is going through the book of Leviticus and it has been really interesting because there are spiritual principles and Gospel parallels in that book that mirror Christ and the finished work of the cross (which we see come to pass many years later after Leviticus was written).
  • Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?:
JESUS! The fact that Jesus would clothe Himself in human flesh, dwell among us for 33 years, AND die a horrific death on the cross for humanity when we didn't deserve it shows just how much God loves each and every one of us. He knows us inside and out and has still called us by name and met us with incomprehensible compassion, mercy, and love. He knew that the rich young ruler would walk away from Him (still clinging to his wealth and possessions) and yet He still loved that man. He still washed Judas's feet despite knowing what that man would do to Him a short while later, and He appeared to Saul who was just on his way to hunt down Christians in Damascus. The point of all this is to say that Jesus Christ IS love and without Jesus, one cannot know genuine love and have fulfillment for their soul.
  • Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?:
This season of singleness in my life has not been without its challenges and times of discouragement, but I believe that the Lord is teaching me to be more patient and obedient as His timing and ways are higher (and perfect) as compared to my human flesh. I am looking forward to meeting the right person, however, and starting a family if it's within God's will!
  • What are four qualities your friends would attribute to you?:
I believe my friends would say that I am responsible, passionate, loyal, and perceptive. When it comes to my faith, I am passionate about reaching a lost and broken world that desperately needs Christ. As someone who spent years living in darkness, my heart aches for those who are suffering and don't have a relationship with Jesus Christ. I am an organized person as well, and I take my responsibilities very seriously. When a person entrusts me with a particular thing or asks me to do something for them, I want to do the best I can to honor the commitment that I made to them. I am loyal to my friends and family and, in the past, I have stuck by friends despite what others may have thought about them. I try to see the different sides of a particular situation(s) because I know that there are two sides to every story, and I want to respond in the best way possible.
  • What are three things you are most thankful for?:
I am thankful for my life and for my family, but above all else I am thankful for my salvation. God chose me from before the foundation of the world and, although He knew every single thing that I would and wouldn't do, still invited me into His amazing family through the work of Jesus Christ. The gift of salvation is the biggest and best gift that anyone could ever ask for, and I am thankful that God pulled me from the pit of death and darkness and brought me into His restorative light.
  • Describe the character and personality traits you enjoy in another person? What are yours?:
I love just taking the time to slow down and appreciate the small things in life, and so it would be awesome to get to know a person who appreciates doing the same. I lean more towards being introverted, as an interesting book or movie and some good food would be an awesome date night for me haha. I also really enjoy having meaningful conversations about the Lord, so someone who can partake in that with me would be such a blessing. Basically, I would just like to connect with someone who is serious about God and puts Him first in life above everything else. I am a little reserved at first until I get to know you, but once I do you'll see me open up and talk about the things that I'm just so passionate about.
  • Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and how?:
Aside from my family, I may have to say my pastor. My pastor, Pastor Jorge, has been such a godly influence in my life and has encouraged me to serve in the church while also providing the opportunity for me to do so. I am so grateful that the Lord has provided my family and I with a friend and godly leader who has shepherded our spiritual walk with great care.
  • What contributed to your previous relationship/marriage ending?:
    --
  • How long have you been on your own since and what did you to do get through it?:
    --
  • Favorite lines from movies, poems, songs, hymns or Scripture you would like to tell us about?:
My 'life' verse would have to be 2 Timothy 4:7 - "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." This is a verse that continually inspires and encourages me to persevere and finish the race to which the Lord Jesus has called me to run. This verse has always spoken to my soul and I can just picture Paul repeating those words with a faint smile on his face as he was being led off to his execution because he knew that he had done the work which God had called him to do and that he was moments away from embracing Jesus Christ at the finish line. Despite what I may be going through, I can always remember that I need to keep the faith and press on ahead towards the goal.
  • What type of work do/did you do?:
I work part-time as both an after-school care teacher and a substitute at a Christian school.
  • How long have you been/were you in that line of work? Do/you enjoy it?:
    --
  • Do you have any life-long goals? What are they?:
My ultimate life goal is to honor and glorify Jesus with my life and the time and talents that He has bestowed upon me. Secondly, I want to fight the good fight and finish the race to which He has called me to run. If the Lord has willed it, I would like to be a husband and a father, and it would be my goal to be the best husband and father that I could possibly be. God has blessed me with amazing role models in my life, and I want to honor the Lord by serving my wife and my family as best I can. When it comes to the church, one of my goals would be to serve my home church in whichever way that God would have me serve. I want to honor my parents and cherish the time that I have left with my loved ones and friends as well. Lastly, I would love to write and publish at least one Christian book. This has been a goal of mine for some time now, and it would be awesome to write something that could help encourage other believers in their spiritual walks as well.
  • Where were you born and where have you traveled?:
I was born in Miami, and I have lived here throughout my entire life. I have traveled to other states, however, and I really enjoy doing so because I love getting to experience different lifestyles and a change in scenery. I visited Tennessee and Kentucky last year, and I absolutely loved that trip because the country life is just so appealing to me. It was so interesting to see how different the culture was, and I can't wait to go back there again (God-willing). I have been to Georgia on more than one occasion in the past few years and I just went to NYC and New Jersey this past December to visit family.
  • How do you enjoy your leisure time? What do you do for recreation?:
I am a writer, and I enjoy coming up with interesting new stories and ideas that could potentially turn into a book or a poem. A lot of the time I will be inspired by something I either saw or came up with, and then I'll start putting together an outline of what the potential story could look like. Aside from writing though, I am practically addicted to buying books (even though my backlog is already huge!). I am a pretty big Star Wars and Marvel fan, and I used to go to early screenings for said movies with my dad (until 2020 happened). He and I still enjoy watching those movies though, and we've also watched a good amount of Christian movies and tv shows. I personally have gotten more and more interested in apologetics within the past year and a half or so, and I would absolutely love to meet people like Ken Ham and Ray Comfort as their ministries have been such an encouragement for me on my walk with the Lord.
  • Is there anything that the questionnaire didn’t cover?:
I touched on this earlier but I am an aspiring writer who wants to author and someday publish Christian books, short stories, and poems that I hope will encourage other people in their faith! I would also like to one day (God-willing) become a Christian apologist and/or potentially work for a ministry such as Answers in Genesis.
  • About Me:
I'm just a nobody trying to tell everybody all about Somebody who saved my soul. I want to fight the good fight that God has for me, keep the faith that God has given me, and run the race that God has called me to run. With my time on this earth, I am looking to be an obedient disciple to the Lord as well as a provider and protector for my family and those close to me. I desire to use my time wisely on this earth, and to represent the Lord in my actions and attitudes.
  • My Interests:
Books, movies (especially faith-based movies), Christian apologetics, and good food are some of my favorite things! I also teach Sunday school classes for college-age young adults and I attend a biweekly men's Bible study group at my home church.
