Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?

Not currently willing relocate.

I grew up in Hollywood, Florida, in a Christian household and was Home schooled from 6’th-12’th Grade. My mother is converted, but my Father and siblings are unregenerate to this day. My family is Jamaican, we’re very affectionate when we’re together, but all live in different states due to post college career opportunities.

How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?

I was 16 years old.

Brief Testimony:

I started attending Church in the 4’th grade. It was a standard non-denominational church where I primarily played video games and learned motions to song in church. No Gospel.

In 5’th grade, I started  attending an SBC church, in which I was introduced to the Sinners prayer during VBS(Vacation Bible School) that year. I DID NOT understand  the holiness of God, the cost of discipleship, the sinfullness of sin, true repentance of sin as opposed to confession of sin, biblical self examination, or the sovereign of God in salvation. Didnt have eyes to see or ears to hear and was still enslaved to sin. That be said, I prayed “the prayer” and believed myself to be  saved(This was my first of many false professions of faith).

The next 5 years of my life were spent in mere public exercise of religion.

I interned at church, I played in the youth band, I read my bible, never cussed, practiced abstinence, even listened to Grace To You radio on the regular, but still practiced Lawlessness. Every year I would practice my vain religion, go to youth camp where the same message of decisional regeneration was preached, and decide(wink wink) to “rededicate my life to christ”… this became a yearly ritual. I knew something was wrong with my way of life, felt the guilt of my sin, but refused to acknowledge my condition and choose to double down on my works based righteosness and simply “redidicate” year after year. It was like only understanding half of Ro 6, like putting off the old man(which I was not) but without putting on the new.

I grew up in a conservative, homeschooling, baptist family and thought myself to be a “good person” regardless of the annual re-dedications/false professions. This was my middle school/high school way of life.

God broke up this pattern via a sermon, the “Shocking Youth Message” by Paul washer.

During the summer between 10’th & 11’th grade, my mom requested I listen to the shocking youth message. It was perfectly crafted for me. the former part of the sermons warned(via Matt 7) of the reality that many professing believers would be revealed to be practitioners of lawlessness and how norms in the evangelicalism were only contributing to that problem via a warped gospel. In the sermon, brother Paul exposited Ez 33/ 36 to convey the irrevocable attributes of those who have been born again, the radical nature of conversion, and a biblical response to the gospel(namely repentance and faith). I do not believe I was converted on the spot, but I was granted eyes to see and ears to hear. It finally clicked that the reason for my patterns/practices of lawless were not due to be “backslidden” or needing to rededicate, but that I never truly understood the gospel and was stuck on the wrong side of Mt 7, works based righteousness. I understood that  as I was during the time of that hearing I was enslaved to sin because I was still in my sin and the God’s judgment loomed over me and if I died, I would rightly go to hell for my sin. Thanks to the faithful preaching, I knew the proper response to the gospel was not to engage in a transactional(if I say this, God will do this prayer) with God as I had done in past. I cried out to God for repentance & faith over the following weeks and believe the Lord converted me a couple of weeks after hearing the Gospel preached in that sermon.Life was kinda hectic during that time because I now knew what I was( a false convert), my station( under the power & penalty of sin), and what was going to happen should I die(I became terrified that I was going to die in my sleep and wake up in hell).  Praise be to God that true love casts out fear and that the spirit leads all who are the sons of God. I continued to seek god in the word & via prayer, began watching/ listening to reformed preaching on I’, and acquired assurance that God had done a work and I was saved.

J.Mac sermons finally started making sense lol.
That was in 2009(just before 11’th Grade), this is super long so i’ll leave the story my finding my first reformed church/ walk to private inquiry.

How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?

Given I was saved out of a heavily arminian background, the most palpable way the Doctrines of Grace impacted my life was by enabling  me to see the  immutable and impassible bedrock of assurance the elect have in christ. Got converted/exposed to reform theology around the same time. Life prior was  litterally and  assurance/performance yo-yo, as I was a lost person, trying to figure out why I could stop practicing lawlessness.

Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?

In scripture, I am reading through 1’st Thessalonians.

My supplemental study is in the book ” How to Help People Change” by Jay Adams.(i read this on my lunch break.

Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?

Ezekiel, for his boldness as God’s Watchmen and quite literally, for the things he saw and prophesied. He presided over Israel at a time that I believe most mirrors the present day US(Jeremiah’s a tough second) “Men of god” worshipping creeping things in secret, approaching God as they would an Idol, and  a kabal of false teacher with Blood on their hands.

Ezekiel 3:16-21 is one  my favorite exhortations to preach the Gospel, definitely leans more toward the our duty as believers(even though it is also our delight).

Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?

Lol, the ” Why are you on this site question”.

I am content in that I am not surveying God’s providence with an evil , however  I know I do not have the gift of singleness so I am diligently seeking for a wife.

What are four qualities your friends would attribute to you?

What are three things you are most thankful for?

1.God’s Kindness, which lead me  to repentance.(and all his perfections for that matter)

2.God’s Word

3.Gods’ Bride – The body has been such a blessing to me over the years : ]

Describe the character and personality traits you enjoy in another person? What are yours?

I’m going to retrofit this question to be trait I desire in Sister’s.

Charitable – I love it when a sister had a disposition to bless others(obviously doesn’t always have to be fiscal)…This is something i’d love to be able to do as a couple someday.

Curious –  Within somewhat of a pragmatic scope, I like it when a sister seeks to truly understand what makes things tick in particular knowledge domains in her life… not in all areas  but in the  important ones.

Discipleship/ evangelism minded -Disclaimer: I dont believe in quotas. That being said A sister who seeks to see Christ formed in other believers, whether it be inside the church[discpleship] or outside the church[ evangelism] is a huge attraction point for me. [ There’s a lot pent up in this attribute, message me if you want dete’s…the rest is a bit length for this text box].

Nurturing – I love to see a sister’s natural, nurturer tendicies bleed through…especially in these tragically woke times. I love godly, feminine women.

Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and how?

Brother Chase B from my old church,

He was the first brother to disciple me in the faith. I met him in college when I started attending my first reformed church. He discipled me in evangelism, the doctrine’s of grace, biblical manhood/manly dominion, and modeled dutiful and true love(1 Jn 3:18) for the brethren to me. He was  the paul to my timothy and was used by God to change my  manner of my walk for all eternity.

He was from my church in Orlando, Fl. I now live in Tx, so we’re not as close now, but he has been the single most impactful man in my life…hands down.

What contributed to your previous relationship/marriage ending?

Ultimately, she just lost interest on a personal level(wasnt personally drawn to me anymore), I think there were other contributing factors, feel free to ask.

How long have you been on your own since and what did you to do get through it?

Last courtship ended April,2020.

Been solo for 14 months.

Favorite lines from movies, poems, songs, hymns or Scripture you would like to tell us about?

“Run, John, run, the law commands
But gives us neither feet nor hands,

Far better news the gospel brings:
It bids us fly and gives us wings”

– John Bunyan

“Do not hearken to the siren songs of the world; the sins that you commit in haste, you will repent of at leisure. Sugared poisons go down pleasantly, but afterwards they wring and torment the bowels. Let me earnestly beseech you to put a bill of divorce in the hand of your sins; do not let error Gangrene, lust burn, malice boil, pride swell, intemperance overflow, or covetousness root in any of your souls. Purge out the leaven and , and if you ever expect to go to new Jerusalem when you die, become a new creature while you live.” – Thomas Watson

via his dedicatory epistle found in his work “the Christian on the Mount.

“What’s wrong with you people?!”- R.C. Sproul

“I have the hi ground.” – Obi Wan Kenobi

“Let Good’s and kindred go, this mortal life also; the body they may kill: God’s truth abideth still; His kingdom is forever.[AMEN]” – Martin Luther, A mighty fortress is our God, Verse 4.

“Do it” – Lord Palpatine

Do you have any life-long goals? What are they?
