“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”  (Proverbs 3:5-6)  After my conversion in 1998, I committed the desire for a relationship to the Lord, asking Him to keep my heart until, if it was His will, He would bring the one He had for me across my path.  As the years passed, the desire for marriage increased, and it was in the spring of 2006 that my parents began telling me about SGS.  I was hesitant at first, as it wasn’t my ideal way of meeting someone.  I would have much rather had the opportunity to observe someone in person. But as they described SGS to me, and how different it was from other dating sites, and after praying about it, I decided to give it a try.  Steve contacted me that August, and after one of our first phone conversations, I discovered that a good friend of my dad’s was the pastor of one of Steve’s good friends.  My dad was able to call his friend and ask him about Steve. It was a sweet gift of the Lord to have a character reference, as that had been one of my hesitations about meeting someone via the internet.  

I was taken with Steve pretty quickly- he is funny, down to earth, thoughtful, generous, a servant…the list could go on.  I spent Thanksgiving with him that year in his hometown, and it was neat to hear how highly thought of he was, from those who had known him the longest.  We were engaged in January of 2007, and were married June 2 of that year.  

The years have flown by! 

The Lord has blessed us with 2 boys, Jake (16) and Daniel (13).
