Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?

Grew up in a small family as we were only 5 members in the household. But now I am living independently and visits family or stays  on vacation.

How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?

I was born RC since my mother is a practicing RC. but I started to join a protestant Christian fellowship/church during teenage around 15 yrs old, since my father who was an atheist ridiculed the RC tradition saying they are worshiping man-made saints which is wrong. (by god’s grace) I sought God even if I always hear my father insisting that there is no God by contrasting his belief on Science.

So this led me to ask my protestant high school classmate if I can join their church fellowship (‘coz in my thoughts, I will not be ridiculed of worshiping man-made saints in a protestant church).  It was the start of my experience of joining bible studies and youth camps. So I was baptized before I went to college around 16 yrs old. Those were the period where the word of God has been planted in me being in my youth with strong passion, vibrant enthusiasm.

But those days were the period of myself not fully grounded to His truth yet, nor stripped from my young carnal nature. I was able to join ministries at a young age like ushering and backup vocals for Saturday worship nights youth gathering. When I was 21 yrs old, I decided to join another local church to fully commit on joining because I felt the church I grew up with is a family church and is only conserved to members within their family tree. My decision was in good terms with my cellgroup leader since I was able to talk to her gave my sentiments to leave the church.

When I finally joined the local church that I transferred to, it was the way for the Lord to open my heart to a growing relationship with Him. I was able to find home in that church and the seed planted in me during my youth has been little by little grown in my heart. I truly believe that through life encounter with Jesus saving Grace that I can fully say I became a Christian. So, I cannot say I have a particular date and age on when I became a Christian but instead what I can say is my Christian faith is a spiritual journey.

To sum it all, it is only thru a personal encounter with Jesus that we can be truly saved, and not by only reading theological stands or information- I agree with the quote: “it is not the information but the transformation”.

Until now, I am still learning more and more of who God is and keeping my relationship aligned to His purpose and will.

My Christian walk is not a one-time transformation but a long spiritual journey until I learned to surrender my idolatries, recognized my sinful nature and depravity. His Word alone in the Bible provides me the guidance of how to live our Christian faith with the Holy Spirit as the teacher. I can enjoy the presence of Jesus as I established a personal relationship with Him.

We can keep His Word as our daily personal devotion. It is also important for me to be connected and be edified by fellow believers in a local church under the submission of a Pastoral leadership. Being obedient to God’s command which is to be a disciple of all nations – be a part to contribute in reaching out to spread the gospel to the unreached. It is for us to enjoy all these blessings and pass on the blessings to others.

How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?

I am a reformed Christian. Christian faith is a free gift from the Lord that gives us the
ability accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior by His grace alone.
As we believe in Him alone as the one and only God who is the creator of the
universe and source of life. Believing that He alone is the way, the truth and the life.
We come to have that faith by receiving His Divine grace as a gift that only God can
freely give to His chosen ones. To get to know Christ is a life encounter with Christ to see
who He is along with reading His Word from the Bible. In God’s Holiness, we can never
please Him with whatever we do or there is nothing in us that is good that can please
Him, we are all sinners before a Holy God and no one is righteous before His eyes.
We are all destined for His wrath. But His infinite love for the world is abounding that
He gave His only Son Jesus as atonement for our sins. And it is in response to His love for us
that we put our trust and faith in Him knowing that Jesus His only son died for
us at the cross, Jesus became sin for us, the wrath of God is poured out upon Jesus Christ
instead of the wrath towards us so that we can be reconciled to the Father.
We believe in Jesus’ sacrifice was “once for all.” His death was sufficient to cover all sin.
and we have victory over death, victory over the enemy because
Christ has resurrected and is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for us.
Jesus is our Great High Priest.
Thru Jesus alone, we have access to the Father and He gave us His Holy Spirit as a seal
for our faith. Our Christian faith have the benefits of being a child of God that
we belong to Him and we have our inheritance in Christ Jesus.

–As a Christian living on this world, I will continue to keep my spiritual journey by fixing my eyes on Jesus
and daily ask for cleansing and forgiveness, allowing Him to mold me in His Christ-likeness.
For the chief end of man is to glorify God.

Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?

I am working in mid-shift , so it is around dawn and when I am about to retire to sleep that there is no noise distractions or when everyone is asleep that I can really enjoy my quiet time with the Lord.

I am studying the Bible which I’m currently reading through again doing my one year bible reading plan. I am also currently reading a book authored by our senior pastor and I have a book to read by John MacArthur and David Platt.

Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?

if I am to choose only one Biblical Character, it is King David – because he is a musician and God use him one as the contributor of Psalms and I am into music and singing of praise to the Lord with stringed instruments.

Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?

Yes I am content being single, since I was able to stay single for several years after I ended my relationship in the past. I believe the Lord has enabled me to stay single and gave me a heart that was content not to seek for a partner for a specific period of time which is I believe was His will for me since I was able to commit to participating in church activities for the sake of evangelism and ministry that married people will not be able to commit. I became active f0r several ministries that participates in passing on the gospel to lost souls in outreaches. But please don’t be mistaken if it may sound like that I am bragging about it because I am not –  For the reason that all of my participation was all because of His grace that enabled me to enjoy it and without His grace, I can never do it nor respond to His calling.

I don’t know when will I stay single and when will the Lord continue to use my singleness for His glory but last January of this year 2021, the Lord gave an impression to open my heart again for relationship that will be according to His Will and for me to pray constantly for a possible lifetime partner. That is why I am here for me to give a try on connecting for a possible connection to someone that is of same grounds to my theological stand and may the Lord be the one to lead.

What are four qualities your friends would attribute to you?

1. Introvert during my younger years but has changed to being confident and tough as I advance in age.

2. Silent but talkative to select kind of close friends.

3. Some say I am humble but for me humility comes from the Lord and I am still trying to learn how to humble myself.

4. Snobbish at first impression by some who does not know me closely (because it is only an outward look due to the nature of the melancholic kind of temperament who does not smile right away on first acquaintances.

What are three things you are most thankful for?

1. God’s blessing of giving Free Air to breathe in to my lungs each day

2. God’s blessing of giving me taste buds and an appetite to eat good food

3. God’s blessing of not allowing me to be in a ill physical condition, that I can wake up each day able to function with my hands and feet to enjoy walking, running, do workouts and all chores needed without assistance. (we will never know when we will be weak, and even some people cannot function wished they can do normal things like we do. So I am always thankful to the Lord each day)

Describe the character and personality traits you enjoy in another person? What are yours?

I like a person who enjoys communication and connecting to close friends sharing same passion
and interests. A person who knows how to share thoughts and conversation about things
concerning things that only nurtures our mind and being or even about our spiritual life.
Also enjoying a conversation about experiences in life that are delightful and something to
radiate more on good side of life.  I like a person who is compassionate and caring/empathetic
to those who are weak (unprivileged or sick) – this is an innate ability and cannot be learned.
It would be nice if the person is an animal lover but does not make a pet out of animals that
deserves to be free in the wilderness like birds, etc. A nice pet lover person who to enjoys
taking care of a pet dog or cat and take good care of them from the heart (not necessarily has a
pet currently but experienced taking care of one).  I like a person who is rational and sober-minded.
Wants to learn and apply in conscious mind and body towards a healthy lifestyle. Most importantly
a person who is a strong believer in Christ, and is grounded in the truth of His Word and loves
Christ under His grace. A reformed Christian in the theological stand would be good.

These mentioned above are mostly the same personality as mine.

Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and how?

Currently, there are several influential people in the area of spiritual leadership who I look up to. But I am not going to name them because I only fix my eyes on Jesus as my rock and my foundation. These leaders that had contributed to my knowledge and understanding of the scriptures are in my heart to give gratitude for. They are the ones who are used by the Lord to evangelize and give their life for the sake of the gospel. But I am always keeping it in mind that everyone of us may fail and has limitations, and we are not to regard them as people that is the influence of who we can be because we might be discouraged by their flaws. What we can do is to put them in prayers continually for the Lord to give them the perseverance till the end. And we only look upon Jesus to stand firm in our faith.

What contributed to your previous relationship/marriage ending?

It was my decision to end my previous relationship and it was a very long time ago which is not aligned to God’s will.

How long have you been on your own since and what did you to do get through it?

I believe it has been 8 years that I am not in a relationship. It is only the Lord that gave me the heart that is joyful in being single and able to go through it.

Favorite lines from movies, poems, songs, hymns or Scripture you would like to tell us about?

Ephesians 2:8-10

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,

not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

What type of work do/did you do?

I was a graphic artist before but switched to a different industry in the IT outsourcing field.

How long have you been/were you in that line of work? Do/you enjoy it?

I am already working in my current for almost 5 years now. I enjoyed and like what I do before as a graphic designer in the past. But not given much of an opportunity to that, so I switch into a different industry. Though my current job is not in the line of my interest, I have learned to embrace it because it is a blessing that God provides.

Do you have any life-long goals? What are they?

The Lord’s will always prevails over personal goals. So I submit to Him one day at a time.
I do not think about future goals that may lead to worldly illusions or self-centeredness.
If ever there is any future goals to plan about, I would invest to something that may lead to glorify Him
and for sake of paving the way to get closer to Jesus rather than to drift away from Him.

Where were you born and where have you traveled?

I am born in the Philippines. Yes, I have traveled to some parts/regions within our country (the Philippines has many islands and regions) and able to have a trip to 2 countries outside Philippines which is Hongkong and Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
