Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?

I love my family.  I grew up homeschooled and I’m very close to my three sisters.  However, I am not opposed to relocating.  I live in western Washington right now which means rain, overcast, rain, rain, overcast, overcast, overcast, sun….and more overcast.  I really like the sun and blue skies, therefore I am not opposed to relocating, preferably to some place with better weather.   BUT, I will go wherever God leads me…even if it means more rain *sigh*.

How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?

I have been a follower of Christ for as long as I can remember.  My parents raised me and taught me well in the ways of scripture.  However, I was probably 14 when my faith in Christ was tested, challenged, and assured.

How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?

As mentioned above,  I was around 14 when my faith was tested and challenged.  I had started reading through my Bible every day because “it was what I was supposed to do.”  However, reading through the scriptures caused me to sit back, and think a little deeper than I had before in my childhood.  The big question running through my mind was, “How do I know that I am a true Christian?”  My question was ultimately answered as I dug deeper into scripture and built a better understanding of the scriptures.  I guess that question may seem somewhat silly as a Christian, but I’m an analytical person and always look for “proof” or “reason” in everything.

Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?

I do my quiet time in the morning after a few sips of coffee.  I’ve done the Bible in one year twice already, but the amount of scripture needed to read everyday is too much for me to soak in.  So, I’m reading through the Bible, start to finish, Genesis to Revelation, but not in a year.  I’m going to take as long as I need to read through the Bible at a pace better suited for studying.  I’m in Numbers right now.

Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?

My favorite Bible character is David because I’ve found him to be a relatable role model.  Reading his story, his failures, and successes comforts me and reminds me not to hate myself when I sin, but to look to God as David did in times of struggle, and to praise Him for all of my successes rather than myself.

Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?

I am content being single, but would most definitely like to raise a God honoring family one day.  I assume that I am content being single right now because only God knows “who” and “when” and I hope that the Spirit will guide me and place a discontentment in my heart once I have met “her”.

What are four qualities your friends would attribute to you?

The first quality my friends give me is “genuine”.  I have also been described as “thoughtful”, “creative”, and “compassionate”.

What are three things you are most thankful for?

I am thankful for my salvation, my family, and my job.

Describe the character and personality traits you enjoy in another person? What are yours?

I enjoy people who are thoughtful, creative, and genuine.  Most of all, I enjoy people who I can have meaningful discussions about theology.

I can be a bit sarcastic sometimes, but I’m very careful with it.  I’m very aware of my surroundings.  I’m pretty good at remembering pointless information and forgetting important information.  I have an analytical mindset, but I prevent it from polluting my creative side.

Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and how?

Near the end of high school when I was in Running Start at a local community college, I was still a very shy person.  I was still eating lunch by myself under the stairs.  It wasn’t that I didn’t like talking or hanging out with other people, I just enjoyed being alone.  To me, friends were just distractions.  One day, I’m eating my lunch at one of those small but tall round tables under the stair case, and this girl just walks up, sits down, and says “hi”.  She wasn’t completely foreign to me considering we had gone to the same homeschool co-op for about 6 years, but it was still quite out of the ordinary for her to sit at my table.  Well, we became great friends and still are to this day.  We ended up attending the same college and studying the same degree.  I consider her to be the most influential person in my life outside my parents because she demonstrated what friendship truly is.  By my graduation in May of 2019, I finally understood the true worth of friends.

What contributed to your previous relationship/marriage ending?

I have never been in a relationship, haha unless 6 days counts or one dinner date.  She wasn’t ready/didn’t feel like God’s timing.

How long have you been on your own since and what did you to do get through it?

Haha, well…that was 2 years ago, and it was only one date…so I got over it by eating a bowl of Lucky Charms.  We’re still awesome friends, and no, not the same friend as noted above.

Favorite lines from movies, poems, songs, hymns or Scripture you would like to tell us about?

Matthew 6:25.  I had a lot of anxiety when I was younger and still growing in my faith.  That verse/chapter was the cure.

What type of work do/did you do?

I am a structural project engineer.  Architects design the layout of a house and how it looks.  I specify how to actually build the house from the foundation to the roof and perform all of the calculations to make sure a wind storm or earthquake won’t knock it over.

How long have you been/were you in that line of work? Do/you enjoy it?

I’ve been working there since graduation, so about 1 year.  So, I graduated as a Mechanical Engineer because I wanted to engineer things that moved like spacecraft, airplanes, or factory machinery.  If you haven’t noticed already, houses don’t move (thankfully), which is what I currently engineer.  I started this position just to help a friend of a friend out while thinking that I’d get something more towards what I wanted to do later down the road.  However, the more I’ve worked here, the more I’ve realized that God has placed me in this position and kept me from getting other positions I’d rather have so that I can help my boss out with his struggling business.  So, my current position is not what I want to do, but it’s where God has me and I am thankful.

Do you have any life-long goals? What are they?

Yes!  My lifelong goal is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever!  I hope to do so by raising a God honoring family.

Where were you born and where have you traveled?

I was born in Washington state, and I’ve lived here my entire life, minus 3 years at George Fox University in Oregon.  Over the span of my life, I have traveled to various parts of Washington, Oregon…yep that’s it.

How do you enjoy your leisure time? What do you do for recreation?

Well, a lot of my time is either spent creating and designing various, pointless, engineering gadgets (sorry, I’m somewhat of a nerd) OR I spend my time playing and composing music.

Is there anything that the questionnaire didn’t cover?

Nope…Well, probably, but I’m tired of typing at this point so I’ll just edit this if I think of anything.
