My family is really important to me. I have 2 sisters, one older and one younger than me. I have two nieces and one nephew who I love. I feel like Baton Rouge is where I'm supposed to be right now.
  • How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?:
I believe I came to know Christ when I was 19 years old. I grew up in a Christian home and had a lot of good influences around me as a kid, but I don’t think I understood the biblical Gospel until I was 19. My relationship with God is the most important thing to me in the world. Jeremiah 9:23-24 is one of my favorite verses in the Bible because it’s about knowing God. I want to meet someone who also has a passion to know God.
  • How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?:
I was first attracted to Reformed theology because of the care I saw that Reformed theologians took to be biblical and clear in their statements. Just the clarity and faithfulness to the biblical text are what initially drew me to people like John MacArthur and R.C. Sproul. I think the first time I really knew that I believed the doctrines of grace was when I read James Montgomery Boice’s Doctrines of Grace. That helped me understand that all of these doctrines give all the glory to God in salvation. I think Reformed theology gets the biblical idea exactly right that God is a massive God and He rules and reigns over all things. That is why He is worthy of my worship and everything I am.
  • Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?:
I am currently studying the Gospel of John with J.C. Ryle's Expository Thoughts on the Gospels. It's really awesome! I'm trying to dive deep into the Gospels and really focus on the Person of Christ.
  • Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?:
David, because he had such an amazing heart for God. He had such a passion to know God and walk with Him. Also, he was a musician and a poet. I like to write music, but I would love to have heard what David's music sounded like. It must have been amazing!
  • Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?:
I don't like being single. I look at married people and I want what they have. I want ot have a companion and someone to go through life with and learn and grow in Christ with. God did say "It is not good that the man should be alone."
  • What are four qualities your friends would attribute to you?:
    Loyalty, kindness, tender heart, intelligence
  • What are three things you are most thankful for?:
My relationship with God, the Word of God, and my family
  • Describe the character and personality traits you enjoy in another person? What are yours?:
Kindness, love, someone who has a sweet spirit, understanding, hard working, intelligent
  • Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and how?:
I would have to say that several of my closest friends collectively have been, next to my parents, the most influential people in my life because they have stuck by me even in very difficult times.
  • What contributed to your previous relationship/marriage ending?:
It was a long distance relationship.
  • How long have you been on your own since and what did you to do get through it?:
It was relatively recent and I think just realizing that it was for the best has got me through it.
  • Favorite lines from movies, poems, songs, hymns or Scripture you would like to tell us about?:
"I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast and when I run I feel His pleasure." Chariots of Fire "Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine. O what a foretaste of glory divine!" Fanny Crosby "Let him who glories glory in this: that he understands and knows Me. That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgement and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight." Jeremiah 9:24 Charles Spurgeon's first words from the pulpit of the Metropolitan Tabernacle: I would propose that the subject of Ministry in this house, as long as this platform shall stand, and as long as this house shall be frequented by worshipers, shall be the person of JESUS CHRIST. I am never ashamed to avow myself a Calvinist; I do not hesitate to take the name of Baptistl but if I am asked what is my creed, I reply, “It is JESUS CHRIST.” My venerated predecessor, Dr. Gill, has left a Body of Divinity, admirable and excellent in its way; but the Body of Divinity to which I would pin and bind myself for ever, God helping me, is not his system, or any other human treatise; but Christ Jesus, who is the sum and substance of the Gospel, who is in Himself all theology, the incarnation of every precious truth, the all-glorious personal embodiment of the way, the truth, and the life.
  • What type of work do/did you do?:
I am a civil engineer. I work for a mid-level engineering firm. Specifically I'm a pavement engineer. I help people know which pavement assets they needed to fix and when to fix them.
  • How long have you been/were you in that line of work? Do/you enjoy it?:
I've been at my current job for the last 5 years. I enjoy it. There are aspects of it that are kind of tedious, but there are aspects of it that I really enjoy.
  • Do you have any life-long goals? What are they?:
I would like to have a wife and a family. I would like to help as many people as I can come to know Christ. I would like to use my gifts in music to minister to people. I would like to get really good at my calling in life and train other people to do the same. I would like to teach my children about God and His Word. I would like to travel all over the world and see all the amazing places in God’s creation.
  • Where were you born and where have you traveled?:
I was born in Baton Rouge. My family moved to Jamaica when I was 5 months old and we lived there till I was 5 years old. I was the only American in my preschool class. My family took a trip to Canada when I was growing up. Also, when I was in high school my Latin class took a trip to Greece. Last of all, a few years ago I took a work trip to Thule Air Force Base in Greenland. Yep, Greenland!
  • How do you enjoy your leisure time? What do you do for recreation?:
Playing the guitar and the piano, writing new songs, writing creatively, reading historical books, discussing theology with friends who think about those kind of things, studying the Bible. I also like to watch good movies, funny TV shows, and my favorite sports teams.
  • Is there anything that the questionnaire didn’t cover?:
    Nope.
  • About Me:
I am a civil engineer from Baton Rouge, LA. I just turned 40. I’ve never been married, but I would like to be married to a woman who loves Christ and wants to live for His glory and kingdom. I love studying Scripture and reading theological books. I’m a big history fan, especially church history. I like to do creative things like write and play music and I do some creative writing. I guess it would be neat to meet someone who had some of the same interests, but I don’t think that’s absolutely necessary.

My family is really important to me. I have two sisters, one older and one younger than me. I have two nieces and one nephew who are precious to me. I would like to live long-term in Baton Rouge, but if God called me to go elsewhere I think I would be willing.
  • My Interests:
Theology, American History, Church History, writing music, LSU football, creative writing, the Red Sox, the Celtics, the Saints.
