Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?

I have a very close relationship with my family, and so I don’t love the idea of relocating. Ideally, I could see myself living within a day’s drive of my family.

How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?

I have been a Christian for as long as I can really remember. I grew up in a Christian home, and I am happy to say that I have been blessed with an amazing family/Church family and Christian role models. I remember participating in Vacation Bible School and hearing the call of the gospel as the call of a loving father (it helps when your Dad is the pastor/leading the discussion! ).

My current Christian walk has been blessed. I wish I saw more fruit in some areas, but I have been blessed by my continued application to prayer and Bible reading, as well as fellowship at my local congregation. I am so very thankful for God’s grace, that my salvation is not based on me but on Christ’s perfect work!!

How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?

The doctrines of grace are very important to me, since they define my relationship to a HOLY God! Without grace, I would not be able to stand in His presence! I am comforted by the Grace that God has shown, especially in comparison with how undeserving I am of it! By Grace I have been saved, so I would say it has affected my life.

Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?

I really admire the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15, who held Jesus in such high esteem that she thought that any crumb He would spare for her, a dog in comparison to the chosen people of God, was more than enough.

I also have always loved the story of David and Goliath. David’s courage and reliance on God is amazing!

Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?

I have definitely struggled with contentment about being single. I think part of the struggle is that marriage/starting a family was something that I thought I would be good at and that I sort of expected to happen. Another reason is that I crave being known and loved by someone (besides my family). I am tempted to feel lonely, which tempts me to be discontent. But I have been reminded lately of the danger of creating an idol, even out of a good thing, like marriage. And I cling to the reminder that GOD is my portion, and HE will never leave me or forsake me. So I am never alone ^_^

Hebrews 13:4–5

[4] Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. [5] Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (ESV)

I have really enjoyed singleness as well! I enjoy the freedom to choose how I spend my time and other resources. I also have really been enjoying my job.

What are four qualities your friends would attribute to you?

Caring, happy, passionate, optimistic

What are three things you are most thankful for?

I am thankful for salvation, a God who made the universe and who is in complete control of everything, who can even make MY SINS bring Him GLORY! (Mind blowing!)

I am thankful for my family/Church family who love me and pray for me.

I am thankful for the beautiful world God has made (including breath-taking sunrises and sunsets, the ocean, kittens, etc ^_^ )

Describe the character and personality traits you enjoy in another person? What are yours?

I love to laugh! In just about any situation, I am probably going to find something to laugh about. So I appreciate people who are willing to laugh with me! So a good sense of humor and a willingness to laugh ^_^

I admire people who are driven (probably because I am kind of opposite of that, so I think it’s really cool when I meet people who have goals and who are taking steps to reach them).

I really am looking for someone who I can talk to/with.. that may be a “duh!” no-brainer, but I really want to find someone who I can be comfortable enough to talk to about anything!

Favorite lines from movies, poems, songs, hymns or Scripture you would like to tell us about?

“Delectable tea? Or deadly poison?” ~Uncle Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender

What type of work do/did you do?

I am an ag engineer. I do a lot of designs for things which help either store water (like a pond) or transfer it (like a waterway). I enjoy the design/problem solving part. I don’t always enjoy the logistics part.

Do you have any life-long goals? What are they?

I would love to illustrate a book, I think that would be super cool!

Where were you born and where have you traveled?

I have lived in Oklahoma my whole life and I really love the open skies we have!!

I have had the opportunity to travel to Scotland, China, and Canada (ish.. for like a day!)

How do you enjoy your leisure time? What do you do for recreation?

I enjoy reading, art, and watching TV/movies. I also have recently taken up pottery, which is challenging but also fun.
