How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?

25.   Adventurous!

How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?

It clarified the gospel for me.

Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?

In the early morning.  I’m currently reading the pastoral letters  (1 & 2 Timothy, Titus) and hope to continue where I left off in Exodus soon.

Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?

Jesus.  Because he paid it all.  Need I say more?

Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?

I don’t think this question is suitable for a dating site.  Because it either tempts people to lie about themselves (so as to look good) or it tempts others to make judgements on those answering the question.

I think growing in contentment is a life long task.  It requires suffering.  Paul the apostle who wrote about contentment (same thing as JOY) in his letter to the Philippians learned contentment because of all the suffering he endured for Christ–while keeping his eyes on Christ.

Which suffering you might ask?

These ones:  Are they servants of Christ?  I am a better one—I am talking like a madman—with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, with countless beatings, and often near death.  Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one.  Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea;  on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure.  And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches.  Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to fall, and I am not indignant?  If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.

[2 Corinthians 11:23-30]

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

[2 Corinthians 12:9-10]

“Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.  I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.  I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”   [Philippians 4:11-13]

Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.”

[Philippians 3:8-11]

What are four qualities your friends would attribute to you?

I asked them in the past and they said:   Friendly, Encouraging, a Great Cook, and a Problem Solver

What are three things you are most thankful for?

The Holy Scriptures!   My Salvation in Jesus!  and the eternal glory that awaits us Saints in our reunification to our heavenly king!

Describe the character and personality traits you enjoy in another person? What are yours?

A kind, humble, honest, loving & submissive woman who has a teachable heart.

Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and how?

My pastor who’s now retired.  I was saved under his preaching and he helped me think for myself.  And he taught me leadership skills.

What contributed to your previous relationship/marriage ending?

Never married before.  I’ve only had one serious relationship in my life.  It was when I was in high school, many years ago.   It doesn’t mean I’m ignorant about relationships and it shouldn’t be a discouragement.

How long have you been on your own since and what did you to do get through it?

Been on my own since college days.

Favorite lines from movies, poems, songs, hymns or Scripture you would like to tell us about?

How Firm a Foundation;   For All the Saints;   Be Thou My Vision;   Jesus Loves Me This I Know;   Michael Row the Boat Ashore;  The Arky-Arky Song;   This Little Light of Mine… etc.

Labor/Repair/Maintenance/Etc.   I work with my hands.

Over a year now.  Yes, I do enjoy it.  It brings me great satisfaction that my customers are satisfied.

Do you have any life-long goals? What are they?

To please God.

I’d also like to build a house someday.  This includes having a bride & family of my own.

“Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.”

[Psalm 127:1]
