Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?

My family is great! I’m the oldest of 4 kids and am close with my family. I’ve lived in the metro ATL area for pretty much my whole life, but I am not opposed to relocating at all. I have a flexible schedule and  especially if something became more serious, it would definitely make more sense for me to move.

How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?

I was born and raised in a reformed Christian home. My grandfather was a Pastor and my dad was an elder at the church growing up, so I knew all the right answers from an early age. It was just a head knowledge though. There was a disconnect between that and true heart change for many years. I was a “good” kid, but was as lost as could be. It wasn’t until my early 20’s that the Lord revealed the depth of my depravity to me and brought me to the realization that I was completely dead in my sin… there was nothing I could do to change my “dead” state apart from His gracious, redeeming work. It was in 2009, that I believe I was truly saved. It wasn’t an overly dramatic change outwardly, but all of the head knowledge moved to heart knowledge and those “right answers” became my true belief and way of life.

Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?

I am reading through the Bible chronologically right now… I’ve been in 1st and 2nd Samuel and Psalms a good bit lately.

Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?

Anyone else think this is a loaded question? No? Just me? Ok haha good to know. I think my contentment with being single fluctuates… On the one hand, I definitely desire marriage and can be “impatient”, shall we say, in trying to bring that about at times. But, on the other hand, any area of discontent in our lives is an opportunity the Lord uses to draw us closer to Him in finding our true joy and rest in Him. He is so gracious to reveal those areas to us where we are not fully trusting in Him. That lack of trust often shows up as discontentment with one area of life or another. I’m not sure if that actually answered the question now that I read it back… but, oh well. 🙂

About Me

Hi! I am Bethany… A southern born, football watching, coca-cola drinking, country music listening, next vacation dreaming, all things Oreo obsessed kind of girl. Chasing the sunset on a summer night until the last bit of sun dips below the horizon is one of my favorite things. But, my true passion is the gospel! I want to be more like Jesus today than I was yesterday. I fall so short all the time, but that drives me back to the cross and my need for a Savior on a daily basis. I am so thankful for grace! I have lived in the metro Atlanta area for most of my life and am currently on staff full time at my church in Duluth.
