Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?

I come from a military family consisting of my father, mother, my older brother, myself, and a 6-month old English Pointer puppy.  I also have an uncle, cousin, and grandfather on my father’s side.


I believe that God has my firmly rooted in Central Florida for the time being; however, I’m willing to go wherever the Lord may call me in accordance to His will.

How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?

I came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was 19.  After my first year of college, I fell into a deep state of longing, depression, and low self-esteem that led to me pondering life’s meaning and my purpose on this Earth.  Over the course of that summer, God began drawing me to Himself through my conscience, the love of a few of my good friends, and a few moments in the Alaskan wilderness.  When I got back to college for my sophomore year, I met Christians on campus who invited me to a Bible study where I learned about Jesus and the eternal life that He offers.  About a month-and-a-half later, I received the Lord’s forgiveness at a small camp just outside of Fairbanks Alaska after listening to a sermon on John chapter 4.


My walk with Christ continues to grow stronger with each passing day.  God has me firmly rooted in a healthy Gospel-centered church in Oviedo (Pursuit Church) where I serve as the leader of the collegiate ministry, the drummer for the worship team, and as a teacher for the children’s ministry.  I also serve on the building maintenance team with my father (he is a deacon).

How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?

Knowing that God is sovereign over ALL aspects of His creation assures me that everything that He does in my life is ultimately for my good and His glory.  Knowing this truth also gives me confidence and boldness in my daily life as everyday is ordained by Him to do the good works that He has prepared for me in advance (Ephesians 2:10).

Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?

My “quiet time” is usually every night before I go to bed.  I spend time in prayer as well as in Scripture.

I’m currently reading the book of Hebrews as well as the book of Romans (which we are studying in the collegiate group at church).

I’m also apart of the young-adults group at church where we are currently studying “The Attributes of God” by Steve Lawson.

Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?

My favorite character in the Bible is Joseph the Patriarch.  I love that in all of the circumstances that he faced, he remained faithful to God.  From being sold into slavery, to thrown into prison, to becoming the premier of all Egypt; Joseph did what was honoring to the Lord.  I love when later in his life, Joseph stated to his brothers that “you intended to harm me, but God intended for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives” (Genesis 50:20).  This shows how God “works for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?

The apostle Paul wrote “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty of in want” (Philippians 4:12).

Just as Paul “learned” contentment, God is teaching me the same principle as I continue to grown in/with Him.  I rest assured that God has whatever is best for me; whether He wants me to remain single or to be married.  I believe that God has put within me a strong desire to pursue marriage so that He can continue to sanctify me for His glory.

What are four qualities your friends would attribute to you?

I would say energetic, entertaining, joyful, and personable.

What are three things you are most thankful for?

I’m thankful for:

1:  God’s grace through Jesus Christ

2:  Pursuit Church

3:  My job at UCF Athletics

Describe the character and personality traits you enjoy in another person? What are yours?

First and foremost, I value a person who loves the Lord above all else and sets their focus on Jesus in all that they do.  I love being around people that are positive/fun, see/bring out the best in others, and have a sense of humor.  I also enjoy being around a person who is humble, compassionate, and willing to listen to me.  Being a sports fan is always a huge plus!


Many people have told me that I have a “big personality.”  I’m a strong ESFP (Myers-Briggs) who enjoys having fun and being the life/center of the party.  I’m also hard-working, servant-minded, and loyal.

Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and how?

My sophomore chemistry professor, Dr. Howard, had a major influence in my life during my early walk with the Lord.  He was a strong brother in the Lord and I used to spend hours in his office getting help with chemistry and talking about how science testifies to the existence of God.  This helped my faith grow strong on an extremely secular campus.  The previous pastor at Pursuit Church (who now serves at a church in Tennessee) also had (and still does) a major impact on my spiritual growth.  He is one of my best friends and we spent a lot of time together at Chic-Fil-A discussing Scripture, Reformed Theology, and discipleship.

What contributed to your previous relationship/marriage ending?

To be honest, I’ve never been in a relationship with a woman.  I’m saving myself for marriage with the woman that God has for me.

How long have you been on your own since and what did you to do get through it?

I currently live with my parents so that I can save as much money as I can while pursuing my Masters.  I’m learning a lot of house-management skills so that I will be able to effectively manage my own household when the Lord grants it to me in His perfect timing.

Favorite lines from movies, poems, songs, hymns or Scripture you would like to tell us about?

One of my favorite passages in Scripture is 2 Corinthians 5:17 which says “therefore if any is in Christ, the new creation has come; the old has gone, the new is here!”


I love this verse because it is the testimony of my life as I have a new heart, mind, and desires in Christ.  I strive everyday to put to death my old self and to grow in the new.


I love to read any books about theology, science, history, Christian living, and apologetics.  I also love the preaching and teaching of John Piper, RC Sproul, and John MacArthur.

What type of work do/did you do?

I currently work for the UCF Academic Services for Student-Athletes (ASSA) as a content tutor in chemistry and math for student-athletes.  My main job responsibilities include teaching/review course content, developing/suggesting study skills, and working with staff to ensure holistic success.


I also taught in the Florida public schools for one year as a high school chemistry teacher.

How long have you been/were you in that line of work? Do/you enjoy it?

I have been working with the UCF ASSA for a little over five years.  I first got the job as an undergrad and I absolutely LOVE it!  God has richly blessed me at my job as I’ve developed into one of the best tutors the organization has had, been nominated for tutor-of-the-month three times, and have shared the Gospel with coworkers and student-athletes as the Lord has led.

Do you have any life-long goals? What are they?

In the words of the Westminster Confession, my chief goal is to “love God and to glorify Him forever.”

As I seek Him, I hope to in the next few years:

1:  Graduate with my Masters and work as a Learning Specialist for student-athletes at a major Division I college or university (UCF Lord-willing!).

2:  Grow as a leader in the church and to have an eternal impact on the UCF campus.

3:  Meet my future wife and raise a family in the knowledge/wisdom of God.


Ultimately my life is in His hands and I will go where/as He leads me.  (Proverbs 16:3)

Where were you born and where have you traveled?

I was born in upstate New York on an Air Force base and moved around a lot during my early childhood.  I spent the majority of my childhood in Alaska after my dad retired from the service when I was 10.  I remained in Alaska until I transferred to UCF when I was 20.  I have traveled to Europe three times as a part of a high school program.  I’ve been to The United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, Germany, and the Czech Republic.  I’ve also been to the Caribbean Islands as well as a mission trip to Haiti.
