  • My view on drinking:
    I drink occasionally
  • On the subject of children:
    I don't know/not sure/if God wills
  • Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?:
I grew up with both parents, and I have one older brother. I like the area that I'm living in, but I would want to follow God's plan if it included relocating.
  • How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?:
I am thankful that I grew up in a Christian home, and came to know God at the early age of four. As I grew older I realized the importance of my relationship with God. These days, I know that my walk with God isn't an "add on." It's not God +________ fill in the blank. God should be my first priority. Luke 10:27 is a verse I am often repeating to myself and by God's grace resolving to live out on a daily basis.
  • How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?:
The Doctrines of Grace have definitely impacted my life. My experiences in middle school exposed me to different theologies, and it was during that time that I began to study the Doctrines of Grace for myself. The truth of the Doctrines of Grace showed me how utterly dependent I am on God; I can't get anywhere on my own. They revealed to me God's character- his justice and perfect love. I also gained confidence that my sanctification is sure.
  • Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?:
I do! The daily time that I set aside intentionally to have "quiet time" early in the morning is my favorite part of the day. I usually start with the "Solid Joys" devotional from Desiring God while sipping (guzzling) some coffee. I then move into the Tabletalk devotional, where right now the focus is on Hebrews. I finish up with prayer. At night, I'm kinda rotating between the book of Ecclesiastes and the book "Knowing God" by J.I. Packer
  • Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?:
From reading this question I"m thinking SGS is looking for someone besides Jesus, so I would go with David. His life had highs and lows, but he was at the end of the day, a man after God's own heat. The Psalms David wrote show the human experience and capture so many emotions. They have been something I turn to for encouragement, or for a model of prayer and thanksgiving. Admittedly, I changed my answer a few times on this question, so feel free to inquire about my other "top contenders." (It's a pretty big group of people to choose from, right?)
  • Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?:
I know God has me in the phase of life that he wants me to be in, and in that I am content. Am I always content with it? No. The social media highlight reel of others can make contentment a little more difficult at times.
  • What are four qualities your friends would attribute to you?:
My friends would say that I'm loving, caring, loyal, and funny, (I took a quick poll for this one.)
  • What are three things you are most thankful for?:
Ah man, these questions are really looking for me to narrow things down! Just three? Okay: 1. I'm thankful that I'm a child of God, and all that entails. I've realized more and more how pointless life is when you don't have a relationship with God. In college, and now as I'm early into my career, I've seen how people are struggling for purpose and meaning, and with God, I have that. 2. I'm thankful that we get to experience joy. A part of joy can include laughter, and I love laugher. I like being able to make other people laugh, laughing with others, sometimes even other people's laugh itself cracks me up. Imagine how crazy the world would be without joy and laugher? 3. I'm tempted to end with something more superficial like coffee (also great), but I'll say I'm thankful to have the love and example of other Godly Christians. I'm thankful to not have to go it alone, but rather I can have their input and support.
  • Describe the character and personality traits you enjoy in another person? What are yours?:
I appreciate someone who is God-fearing, level-headed, and consistent. I can be more introverted, so I like being around someone more outgoing. I mentioned joy and laugher as one of my top three things that I'm thankful for, so I appreciate people that make me laugh. (side note, I can laugh pretty loud too)
  • Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and how?:
I know SGS is asking for one person, but I'm going to have to go with a few people and not just one. I've been blessed enough to grow up alongside another family in my church, and I've known them as long as I can remember. They have been a part of every milestone in my life and have given me countless pieces of advice. I've watched as they raised their own kids to be godly adults. Most importantly, I've been blessed by their Christ-like example. They've shown me what it means to live for God, love others, and be a family.
  • What contributed to your previous relationship/marriage ending?:
I haven't been married or had a previous relationship.
  • How long have you been on your own since and what did you to do get through it?:
    N/A
  • Favorite lines from movies, poems, songs, hymns or Scripture you would like to tell us about?:
One of my favorite verses is Isaiah 41:10.
  • What type of work do/did you do?:
    I work in Human Resources
  • How long have you been/were you in that line of work? Do/you enjoy it?:
I've been at the same company for just under 4 years. I enjoy the area of Human Resources despite its many challenges.
  • Do you have any life-long goals? What are they?:
I want to live a life focused on things that are eternal. You don't get to take anything with you, so what really matters is living for Christ.
  • Where were you born and where have you traveled?:
I was born in New York. I haven't traveled too much, but I do like watching some travel shows. (which I know isn't remotely the same thing)
  • How do you enjoy your leisure time? What do you do for recreation?:
I really enjoy cooking and baking. I like to spend time with friends and family making memories. I also love listening to music. I'm always so happy when I get to crack open the windows at home on a sunny day and throw a record onto my record player. I really do like a wide variety of music. I'm also known to have a jam session in my car, and I'll encourage any passenger to sing along.
  • About Me:
I think the questions above and below are a pretty good summary. To reiterate: I'm thankful for God and thankful to be saved by grace through faith. I'm loving, caring, loyal and determined. I'm thankful for the godly example of others, and for both joy and laugher. I like creating memories with friends and family, and like to cook, to bake, to learn, and to listen to music.
  • My Interests:
I like learning. Finding out "fun facts" on pretty much any topic makes me smile. I do have an interest in politics, but fear not, social media is not my go-to platform for either information or having serious political conversations.
