|Tell us about your family. How do you feel about relocating?||
I have 8 awesome and amazing children. 5 are grown and no longer at home, and the younger 3 I’m blessed to have at home. We are a tight knit group.
Relocating?….well it would be difficult but possibly not impossible. For true love?….whatever God wills!
|How old were you when you were drawn to Christ and how is your Christian walk these days?||
I was newly married, 20 and made a profession of faith. For the next year or two attended church. Then met some amazing friends that introduced me to Reformed Theology. I remember distinctly being at a bible study and Romans 1 was opened to my eyes. It was like being born again again.
Today, my faith is stronger and deeper than ever only because of Christ and His amazing love for me.
|How have the Doctrines of Grace changed or affected your life?||
Wow! This is huge as I stated above it was as if I was born again again. Ever since then it’s been a path of continual learning. The hugest impact, personally was when I learned a clear law/gospel distinction and how free we are in Christ. (Galatians 5:1) and that we rest completely in the passive, perfect and perpetual work of Christ on our behalf.
|Do you have a "Quiet Time?" What are you studying?||
I do have a morning routine that includes reading, praying, meditation. Currently studying or reading “The Gospel mystery of Sanctification” by Walter Marshall, “The attributes of God” by A.W. Pink
|Who is your favorite Biblical Character and why?||
Its difficult to pick a favorite as there is not one clear character that comes to mind but some of the top ones would be David for the Psalms, Solomon for Song of Solomon, Mary, for her song, Paul for Galatians, Ephesians and Romans, Joseph for his act of grace toward his brothers.
|Are you content being single? Why? If not, why?||
Yes and no. Contentment, in general, is an area that I have been specifically working on and lately I have found great contentment in singleness.
At the same time, I have a deep desire to marry again and to have a truly Godly marriage filled with love, passion and laughter with Christ at the center.
|What are four qualities your friends would attribute to you?||
Caring, sensitive, creative and committed
|What are three things you are most thankful for?||
Well number one would have to absolutely be God’s grace through Christ!
Secondly, my children, they are an amazing gift from God!
Thirdly, would be at tie betwen church/church life and excellent health.
|Describe the character and personality traits you enjoy in another person? What are yours?||
The Character traits that I especially enjoy in another person are first the genuineness of their faith and love for Christ, someone who is kind, compassionate, authentic, who loves to laugh and live life to the fullest all for God’s glory.
This is hard to answer without sounding like one is “tooting their own horn” so-to-speak, but i do see myself as loving, authentic, never taking myself too seriously. I love to laugh, extremely loyal, and would say I’m an introvert with extrovert tendencies. I’m just as happy home on a rainy day, with every one playing games to the next weekend going a romantic trip to a mountain cabin.
|Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and how?||
There have been a few…first are the two couples that initially introduced me to Reformed Theology. It was such a transformational time in my life and I thank God for their influence. The next would be a pastor from a prior church I attended. His teaching was so gospel rich, I would always walk away refreshed in my faith, full of assurance and gratitude wanting to love God and neighbor. Did you know God loves you with the same love that He loves Christ? So good! #butGod
|What contributed to your previous relationship/marriage ending?||
This is a long story, but the short of it was adultery on her part and her completely renouncing her faith and God. I held out and wanted reconciliation up until the very end, but that is not what she wanted.
|How long have you been on your own since and what did you to do get through it?||
Essentially since 2019. This was a dark time. I have never walked such a valley. But through, my children, family, counsel, self care, sermons, podcasts and especially God’s love, I am now at the point where I can be thankful of what happened. I now realize that I was never loved, and did not know or experience a biblical marriage. But thanks to the divorce, I now have the opportunity to have an amazing, dynamic, vibrant and Godly marriage and that fills me with great hope!
|Favorite lines from movies, poems, songs, hymns or Scripture you would like to tell us about?||
Wow, probably could write a book here. I love music. Especially curating playlists of Christian music that you would not normally find on the radio. Let’s see here a few quotes that stand out from songs, hymns and movies.
“Sirens call my name, they say they’ll ease my pain, then break me on the stones, but true love is the burden that will carry me back home, carry me with the memories of the beauty I have known” from Ulysses by Josh Garrels
“When He shall come with trumpet sound, Oh may I then in Him be found, In Him, my righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne” from My Hope is Built on Nothing Less.
“Fear not, little flock, for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom” Luke 12:32
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” Romans 8:1
“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”” Romans 8:15
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels or rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 38, 39
Basically all of Romans 8. 😉
“I’m a little concerned right now about your salvation and stuff. How come you have not been baptized?” Nacho Libre
“For what do we live for, but to make sport for our neighbors, and laugh at them in our turn” Mr Bennet from Pride and Prejudice
|What type of work do/did you do?||
As mentioned earlier, I am a licensed remodeling contractor and started and own my own remodeling business. We are a boutique remodeler and specialize in kitchens, bathrooms and all interior spaces. That is one of our kitchens on the profile page.
|How long have you been/were you in that line of work? Do/you enjoy it?||
The remodeling business is new to Florida for 3 years as that is when I moved here, but I have been self employed in construction for 15 years.
I do very much enjoy it! I especially like the creative aspect and taking something from ugly to amazing.
|Do you have any life-long goals? What are they?||
Firstly would be to know Christ more and that my children would know and love Him. I would also love to serve with a future spouse in whichever way God would lead us. I also have an idea that I think the Lord is leading me towards that I am exploring.
Recreationally, I’m training for a Duathlon and would like to win one of those within a year.
Financially, I would like to retire or become financially independent through real estate investing by 2025.
And have an awesome amazing marriage as soon as God wills!….Haha 😉
|Where were you born and where have you traveled?||
I was born in Michigan, raised in a small town. After high school moved to San Clemente, CA. Then lived in New Hampshire and Kentucky.
I have traveled extensively throughout the states thanks to a sales job I once had. And was also able to travel to Europe.
I do like to travel and would love to go to France and Italy, mainly because I love food and appreciate wine.
|How do you enjoy your leisure time? What do you do for recreation?||
Family time is number one and we love to play board games or be active outdoors.
My interests are varied and many and am also open to new things, but here are some of the things I enjoy… cooking, cycling, listening to podcasts, theology, reading, thoughtful conversation, kayaking, fishing, hiking, camping, tennis, discovering new restaurants, being physically active.
